Music Legend Brent Hinds Dies At 51 In Crash Between SUV, Motorcycle Brent Hinds, the electrifying musician whose riffs helped launch Mastodon to metal stardom, has died in a tragic motor-vehicle crash in Atlanta.  The 51-year-old Hinds, the former lead guitarist and co-vocalist of the Grammy-winning band, was killed on Wednesday, Aug. 20, when his Harley Davidson motorcycle was struck by a BMW SUV that failed to yield while turning, according to police, Atlanta News First reported.  The collision caused fatal injuries, and authorities have ruled his death accidental. Veteran, Great-Grandfather ID'd As Victim In Fatal Western Mass Motorcycle Crash A 75-year-old Berkshire County man was identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash last week, authorities said.  Al Salvatore, of Pittsfield, was riding his Harley Davidson with his friend in Lanesborough on Sunday, Sept. 1, when he collided with an SUV, the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office said.  Salvatore was driving east on Route 7 onto the Route 8 connector when his bike crossed the double yellow line and into the path of an oncoming SUV, the prosecutor's office said. 'This Was An Avoidable Crash': Driver Admits To Fatal Charlemont Motorcycle Wreck A 39-year-old Berkshire County woman admitted to causing a 2023 crash that killed a Franklin County motorcyclist, authorities said on Tuesday, July 30.  Melissa Repka, of North Adams, pleaded guilty to motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation on Tuesday, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. A judge sentenced her to two-and-a-half years in prison, though she will only spend nine months behind bars. 56-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Central Mass A 56-year-old New Hampshire man was identified as the victim in a crash on Saturday, June 8, in Worcester, authorities said.  Robert Petterson, of Farmington New Hampshire, crashed his motorcycle after the Harley Davidson came in contact with a 2020 Honda CRV around 1:40 p.m. on I-290 Westbound, Massachusetts State Police said.  Paramedics rushed Petterson to an area hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
