Elizabeth Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run, Perth Amboy Driver Arrested: Prosecutors A 57-year-old Elizabeth woman was fatally struck while crossing the street on her way home from work in Perth Amboy, authorities said on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024. Gladis Ruiz was hit by a 2010 Hyundai Sonata near Elm Street between Market Street and Riverview Drive at 6:20 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. Long Branch Man Hospitalized After Red Bank Shooting: Prosecutor A 34-year-old Long Branch man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound following an overnight shooting in Red Bank, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Saturday, Dec. 7. Officers from the Red Bank Police Department responded to reports of gunfire on St. Mary’s Place, near Shrewsbury Avenue, at approximately 1:48 a.m., authorities said. Teenage Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Brightwaters Crash: Police A teenage bicyclist was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash in Brightwaters, Suffolk County police announced on Saturday, Dec. 7. The 14-year-old was riding westbound on Howells Road near Manatuck Boulevard when he attempted to cross the street and was struck by a westbound 2011 Honda CRV at 10:25 a.m., according to police. 78-Year-Old Woman Killed In House Fire: PA State Police A 78-year-old woman was killed in a fire at her home in Unionville Borough, state police announced on Thursday, Dec. 5. Patricia A. Langham died in a residential fire at 360 Apple Street, Unionville Borough, Centre County, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Rockview. Trooper Ryan Monoski reported the fire began at approximately 12:26 p.m. on Thursday. Despite efforts to contain the blaze, Langham was pronounced dead at the scene.
