A Massachusetts man has been arraigned after authorities say he caused a boat crash that killed a woman and seriously injured another person.
John Reichardt, 64, of Weymouth, pleaded not guilty to boat homicide by negligent operation and two counts of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
The charges stem from a boat collision on August 16, 2024, in the waters near Grape Island and the Weymouth Fore River, where a 38-foot motorboat collided with a smaller sailboat, the prosecutor said.
