Wallingford Drunk Driver Crashes Into Woman, Breaking Her Back, Ribs: Police A 64-year-old Connecticut man is accused of hitting a pedestrian last week, leaving her with severe injuries, and fleeing the scene. Carlton Brechlin, of Wallingford, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, operating a vehicle with unsafe tires, and injuring a vulnerable person on a public highway, authorities said. Wallingford police said Brechlin was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Silverado when he struck a 52-year-old woman on Center Street on Friday, Feb. 7. Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Massive Traffic Jam On Route 15 In Meriden A portion of Route 15 was closed Thursday morning, Feb. 13, after a car crashed with a tractor-trailer. The wreck was reported around 7:45 a.m. between westbound Exits 66 and 68, CTRoads.org said. No one was hurt, but the crash caused a traffic jam that stretched four miles. The Department of Energy and Environmental responded to the scene because of a reported fuel leak. Police closed the I-691 West ramp (Exit 68W) ramp Thursday morning as they cleaned, cleared, and investigated the scene. Visit CT Roads for updates on when the ramp reopens.

1 Dead After Sedan Crashes Into Box Truck On I-95 In Mansfield One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning, Feb. 13, on I-95 in Mansfield, authorities said. The wreck was reported around 12:30 a.m. near mile marker 12 when a sedan slammed into the back of a box truck, Massachusetts State Police said. A passenger in the sedan was killed in the crash. Their name has not been released. Police closed the middle and right lanes of I-95 for hours as they cleaned and cleared the scene. Massachusetts State Police are investigating the crash.

Newly Minted Millionaire: Stoughton Winner Has Big Plans For Her Massive Payday It's been a very lucky week for one Baystater who won a $1 million prize in the Massachusett State Lottery. Brenda Stineman, of Stoughton, won the seven-figure prize playing the $10 scratch-off game "$2,000,000 50X Cashword." Stineman elected to take the lump sum payment of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity. She said she plans to use the money to update her home.
