Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Massage Therapist From MD Accused Of Inappropriately Touching Clients In Alexandria: Police A massage therapist from Maryland working in Alexandria is facing charges related to allegations of sexual assault by two clients, police say. Picard Johnson, 31, who worked at Alexandria Massage Envy on Duke Street in the Foxchase Shoppes, was arrested and charged with two counts of object sexual penetration in connection to the claims of at least two people. Police ID 23-Year-Old Killed Near Alexandria Apartment Complex A shooting suspect is at large after a man died at the hospital from gunshot wounds in Alexandria, police say. Local resident Carl Harris has been identified by investigators as the person who was shot and killed during an incident over the weekend. Maryland State Police ID 26-Year-Old Father Found Shot To Death In Cambridge A 26-year-old man affectionately known as "Porky" has been identified by police as the man gunned down in Southern Maryland overnight. Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Pick-Up Truck, Car In Baltimore County, Police Say The Baltimore Police Department has identified the 52-year-old man who was killed after being struck by two vehicles crossing the road. Jose Rivas was attempting to cross Liberty Road in the area of Brubar Court in Gwynn Oak on Friday night, when he was struck by both a 2014 Dodge Ram and a 2017 Nissan Altima. Driver Killed In Single-Vehicle Spotsylvania Crash Identified By Sheriff (Developing) A 49-year-old man was killed early on Friday morning in a single-vehicle Spotsylvania crash, the sheriff's office confirmed. Local resident Marcus Dwayne Coleman has been identified by investigators as the driver and only person involved in a crash on Oct. 18 in the 3900 block of Shepherds Road. The crash was reported at around 8:15 a.m. on Friday. Coleman was pronounced dead at the scene. Residents Rescued From Roof Of Hagerstown House Fire Some residents had to be rescued in Washington County on Saturday morning when a house fire broke out in Hagerstown, officials say.
