Man Found Dead In Central Mass; Police Reach Out For Clues A man's body was discovered in Worcester County Saturday morning, Jan. 4.  Investigators said he was discovered off of Brigham Street in Hubbardston, the Worcester County District Attorney said. Authorities did not provide any information on his identity or cause of death.  Investigators ask anyone with information on the man or his death to contact Massachusetts State Police at 508-829-8326.

Blaze Rips Through Newtown Home; Family Escapes Without Injury Fire tore through a Connecticut home late last night, leaving significant damage but no injuries, authorities said.  Firefighters were called to the Newtown home around 9:30 p.m. The Botsford Fire Department said everyone inside was able to escape.  Crews fought their way into the home and salvaged several personal items for the family, removing them from the home, while battling the fire.  Botsford Fire Department Firefighters from across Fairfield County responded to the fire. All crews had left the scene  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Woman Killed After Crashing Into New Britain Building: Report A woman was killed Friday night, Jan. 3, after crashing into a New Britain building, reports said.  The crash was reported to police around 8:15 p.m. near the Grove Hill and Lake Street intersection, NBC Connecticut reported.  The driver was reportedly found unresponsive. Responders rushed her to an area hospital where she died of her injuries.  Police did not release her name.  The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Newly Minted Millionaire: Hanover Woman Claims $4M Lottery Prize Talk about ending the year with a bang. A Massachusetts woman claimed her $4 million lottery prize on New Year's Eve.  Amanda Demontigny, of Hanover, won the seven-figure prize playing the “$4,000,000 Bonus Money" game, a $10 scratch-off ticket.  She elected to take the lump sum of $2.6 million (before taxes) rather than the annuity.  Demontigny bought the ticket at Richdale Food Shops, 181 South St. in Hingham. The store will receive a $40,000 bonus for the sale.
