A potent storm system accompanying a cold front is bringing thunderstorms with drenching downpours to the region. Some of the storms may be heavy, with 1- to 2-inch per-hour rainfall rates possible in already saturated areas during the day on Wednesday, Sept. 13, the National Weather Service said. A powerful, multiple-hazard storm will sweep through the Northeast, with the main impact on this region being strong, gusty winds that could cause power outages. Here Are Areas Where Accumulating Snowfall Is Expected From Quick-Moving Storm
A quick-moving storm is expected to bring up to a foot of snow to parts of the Northeast, but the system's track is expected to stay far enough south to prevent any accumulation in most of this region. For much of Long Island and eastern Connecticut, snowfall is possible at times from Monday morning, Jan. 3 to early in the evening on Monday. CT Man Sentenced For Fentanyl Trafficking Connected To Overdose Deaths
A Connecticut man has been sentenced to 12-and-a-half years in prison for trafficking in fentanyl that was connected to several overdose deaths. Leonard C Boyle, Acting US Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that Juan Reyes, age 28, of West Hartford, was sentenced on Tuesday, Oct. 26, followed by five years of supervised release.
