Man Who Allegedly Robbed NY Walmart Charged Under County's Controversial Mask Law A man who allegedly robbed a Long Island Walmart was also charged with violating Nassau County's controversial new mask law. The suspect was wearing a black ski mask when he entered the store located in East Meadow at 2465 Hempstead Turnpike at around 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26 and began concealing merchandise in his bag.  He exited the store without paying for the merchandise and was confronted by store security, Nassau County Police said, adding that security recovered the merchandise, "and the suspect directed physical threats towards them as he was leaving the scene." Fatal Crash: CT 65-Year-Old ID'd As Victim On I-84 A person was killed after being struck by a car in an early morning crash on a stretch of I-84 in Connecticut involving three Long Island residents. It happened around 5:10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, in Tolland County. A 2010 Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound in the right-center lane between exits 65 and 66 in the town of Vernon when it struck a pedestrian who was lying in the travel lane for unknown reasons, according to Connecticut State Police. The Connecticut-based company confirmed on Wednesday, May 8, that the town of Orange in New Haven County is one of several locations being "looked at" for the family-owned grocer's ninth location, according to Meghan Bell, a spokeswoman for the company.
