Beloved North Salem Town Employee, Firefighter Dies At 62 A much-loved town employee from Northern Westchester who spent more than two decades serving the public as a firefighter has died.  John Scott Parker, who worked as North Salem's Assistant Building Inspector and spent over 20 years with the Katonah Fire Department, died on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the age of 62 following a battle with cancer, according to his obituary.  Born in Sept. 1962, Parker was known for living his life to the fullest and always seeking new challenges to solve, his obituary said. Malfunction Sets Off Lockdown Alarm At Horace Greeley High School In Chappaqua A lockdown alarm went off at a Northern Westchester high school as the result of a malfunction, police announced.  The incident happened on Monday, Sept. 16, when a lockdown alarm went off at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, New Castle Police said around 11:45 a.m.  After officers investigated the incident, they eventually determined that it was an unknown alarm malfunction.  The department is now continuing the investigation to determine the circumstances of what triggered the alarm, police added.  This is a developing story.
