Street Racers May Have Caused I-84 Multi-Car Crash, Police Say Connecticut State Police report a multi-vehicle crash on I-84 was likely caused by street racers. The crash occurred around 10 p.m., Monday, July 1, on I-84 between Exits 68 and 69 in Tolland. According to State Police, responding troopers located an extensive debris field and one vehicle that had rolled during the crash. State Police said troopers investigating the crash believe the crash was caused by several vehicles "driving recklessly" and also "slow rolling the highway" before racing each other. CT State Troopers Smash Allegedly Drunk Driver’s Window Connecticut State Police had to smash a window and use a taser on a 24-year-old man before charging him with alleged drunk driving.  The incident occurred in Middlesex County around 2:30 a.m., Saturday, June 22, on 1-91 northbound in Middletown between the rest area and Exit 20.  According to State Police, troopers found a black GMC Sierra pickup with a Massachusetts license plate parked in the right climbing lane and several damaged DOT traffic cones.  The truck's engine was running, and the driver was slumped over the steering wheel, state police said. Man With No ID Killed In Hudson Valley Crash After Speeding In Opposite Lane: Police A Connecticut man was killed in a New York crash after allegedly speeding in the opposite lane of traffic and striking another vehicle before hitting a tree, police announced.  The crash happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, June 19 just before noon, when two cars collided on Route 311 just south of Caroline Drive in the town of Patterson, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. 24-Year-Old Killed After Hitting Back Of Parked Tractor-Trailer On I-95 Stretch In CT A 24-year-old Connecticut man was killed after he veered off I-95 and hit the back of a parked tractor-trailer. The New Haven County crash happened around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, in Branford. According to Connecticut State Police, the tractor-trailer was parked just past a rest area on the shoulder when Josiah Lawrence Steinman, of New Haven, driving a 2019 Nissan Sentra north in the right lane, veered onto the shoulder "for an unknown reason," slamming into the back of the truck.
