A woman tried to stab a Connecticut State Capitol Police officer through the driver’s-side window of his cruiser before the knife broke, authorities said. The attack happened around 6 a.m. Wednesday at Armory Road and Michael J. Fallon Way in Hartford. The attorney for a self-described “crime junkie” accused of filming jurors outside the Lindsay Clancy murder trial called the incident a “misunderstanding.” Dawn Light, 56, of Sutton, was charged with aggravated intimidation of a juror on Tuesday, Sept. 1, after police said she entered a restricted area and recorded members of the deadlocked jury, Plymouth Assistant District Attorney Nicole Piacentini told the court. Police ID Trucker Killed In I-84 Crash With Parked Big Rig In Danbury
Authorities identified a 42-year-old tractor-trailer driver who was killed when his truck rear-ended another big rig parked along Interstate 84 in Danbury. Jason Valarezo, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was killed shortly after 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, after his 2026 Volvo VNR left its lane on I-84 west and struck the rear of a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia parked on the right shoulder near Exit 1, Connecticut State Police said. Gunman Sentenced To Decades In Prison For Murder, Shooting Retired New Haven Police Captain
A man who killed a Connecticut resident and wounded an off-duty police captain will likely never see life outside of a prison cell again. Albert Eaddy, 64, was sentenced to 65 years in prison Monday, Aug. 31, according to state prosecutors. He must serve at least 25 years. A jury found Eaddy guilty of murder and first-degree assault, among other charges in an August 2019 New Haven shooting, according to police. A Connecticut moped rider was injured, and another ran away after a fiery crash with a car, police said. The crash happened around 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at Silver Lane and Oak Street in East Hartford, police said. Police said two mopeds and a vehicle were involved. An 18-year-old paddleboarder from Connecticut has died after an apparent drowning at a Cape Cod pond.
