A Connecticut man horrifically beat a family member's kitten and left it to die in the cold in Fairfield County, then lied to cover it up, authorities said.
Krzystof Bakota, age 47, of Shelton, is charged with first-degree animal abuse and was being held on a $25,000 bond, police said.
Bakota was watching a kitten for a family member, but when they came to pick it up, he told them it had gotten out and was missing, Shelton Police said. Later on, they found the kitten's corpse in his backyard.

Christopher Graham, age 38, of Shelton, was captured on Wednesday, April 24, for the incident on Tuesday, April 23, at a Walnut Tree Hill Road home.

A Connecticut man has been taken into custody after the belief he was running a narcotics ring in the area led police to search his home.
On Tuesday, Dec. 19 in Fairfield County, the Shelton Police Department raided the home of Carlos Baez Jr., age 28.

A 53-year-old Connecticut man will spend the next eight months in prison after he admitted to taking bribes to sell contracts to build, maintain, and repair three colleges in Massachusetts, federal authorities said.
