Charles Whitfield Jr., 43, of Plymouth, was found guilty of fatally shooting Phillip Harris at a Terryville Gulf gas station in May 2023, according to New Britain Judicial District State’s Attorney Christian M. Watson. He was convicted on the third anniversary of the slaying. Witnesses said Harris was pumping gas when Whitfield opened fire around 10:30 p.m. Police said the men knew each other.
