CT Caretaker Charged In Sister’s Killing Amid Alzheimer’s Struggles
A Connecticut man accused of killing his older sister while serving as her caretaker is being held on a $2 million bond after police said tensions tied to her Alzheimer’s disease had built for months.
Donna Caponero, 69, was killed Friday, May 16, inside her Edgemere Road home in East Haven, according to police. Her brother, Sean McCormack, 56, is now charged with killing her.
McCormack made his first court appearance on Wednesday, and a judge ordered him held on a $2 million bond, WTNH reported. He did not speak at the arraignment hearing.

Four people tied to a Connecticut medical business are accused of running a scheme that investigators say stole nearly $660,000 from Connecticut’s Medicaid program through fake medical billing.
Inspectors with the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney announced the arrest on Wednesday, May 20.
Investigators said the case centers on Advanced Pain and Regenerative Medical Solution Corporation, also known as APRM Solutions, in Shelton.
