An 8-foot Burmese python was found hiding under the floor of a shed, the Monmouth County SPCA said. A local contractor removed the floorboards and animal control officer gently unwound the snake so as not to cause injury, the SPCA said. The python was taken to the SPCA. An X-ray showed the python had eaten a large possum, the SPCA said. Fins and Feathers in Red Bank helped find a snake expert who will keep the snake safe until a permitted owner comes forward, the SPCA said.
