Man Rushed To Hospital After Nearly Drowning In Fairfield County
A man was pulled from a popular lake after first responders in Fairfield County were dispatched for a report of a drowning. The incident took place in Brookfield around 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 16, when Brookfield Fire and EMS were dispatched to Blueberry Island for a reported drowning on Candlewood Lake, the department said. Crews responded to the island and found an unknown-aged man in cardiac arrest, the department added. Upon arriving at the island EMTs and paramedics immediately began life-saving measures. A 60-year-old Fairfield County man drowned while attempting to save another person struggling in the water. The incident took place in Norwalk at Calf Pasture Beach near the Coast Guard Auxiliary building around 4:45 p.m., Sunday, July 31. The incident took place in Middlesex County at Pattaconk Lake in the town of Chester on Sunday, July 17. A Connecticut teen drowned at a state park over the weekend while swimming with friends. The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 in New London County at the Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme, said Will Healey, of the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
