Isaiah Thomas, 20, of Wheatley Heights, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 15 on two animal cruelty charges, the Suffolk County SPCA said.

A Connecticut man already jailed in an alleged strangulation attack on his ex-wife now faces murder charges in the death of an infant, police said.
Dean R. Peruta, 40, of Willimantic, was charged Tuesday, Sept. 15, with murder of a victim under 16 years old, murder and risk of injury to a child, according to a news release.
The case began on Dec. 21, 2025, after an infant arrived at Windham Hospital following a reported fall at a Willimantic home the previous night, police said.
