ID Of CT Firefighter Killed By Broken Piece Of Truck Outside Burning Home Released Officials have identified the Connecticut firefighter killed in the line of duty death Sunday, July 27. Raymond Moreau, 59, had responded with the Plainville Fire Department to a structure fire at 45 Maria Road at approximately 6:20 a.m. Sunday, Connecticut State Police said at a press conference. Moreau was standing near a fire apparatus when a piece of the truck broke off and struck him, causing catastrophic injuries to his leg. NJ's Edan Alexander Released By Hamas After 19 Month Hostage Ordeal Edan Alexander, a Bergen County native, who had been held hostage by Hamas for 19 months, has been released on Monday, May 12, according to published reports. Alexander, a 21-year-old Tenafly resident and the last living U.S. citizen held captive in Gaza, was handed over to Red Cross representatives, NBC News reported. CT Firefighters Rescue Dog From Burning Home Firefighters in Hartford County rescued a dog from a burning home on Tuesday, Jan. 14, saving the pooch before flames consumed the property. Crews were called to a home at 69 Fleming Road in Manchester just before 2:30 p.m. They arrived to find smoke billowing from the roofline. The family escaped mostly unharmed. Paramedics examined one person for smoke inhalation at the scene, but they did not need to be hospitalized.
