A Connecticut man will spend the next decade behind bars after federal agents found thousands of disturbing images and videos of child sexual abuse in his home.
Joshua Glaeser, 37, of New Britain, was sentenced on Monday, June 9, to 10 years in federal prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release, the US Attorney for the District of Connecticut said. The punishment follows a months-long investigation that began in the summer of 2022.

Walgreens announced this past fall that it will close about 1,200 stores over three years amid a decline in prescription drug payments and a rise in online competition.

A mother, her teenage daughter, and her sister who were killed in a crash on Saturday, April 19 in Connecticut will be laid to rest together this weekend.
Services for Florinda Antonia Tineo, 50, her daughter Gabriela Johailiz Difo, 17, and her sister Jeannette Tineo, 48, will be held Friday, April 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial. A 17-year-old senior at Newington High School was among four people killed in a two-car crash over the weekend in Connecticut, authorities said.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Willard Avenue and Greenlawn Avenue in Newington around 9 a.m. Saturday, April 19, according to police.

A 53-year-old man has been linked to two kidnappings that occurred in 1989 in Fairfield County, Connecticut, closing a 36-year mystery for prosecutors.
David Vincent Coffey, of New Britain, was previously tied to the April 23, 1989, kidnapping and sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in Danbury, police said. Now, investigators say he is also connected to the abduction and sexual assault of a 20-year-old woman from the same Danbury home in January 1989.

An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed one pedestrian and injured another in New Britain last December, authorities said.
Charlie Rodriguez surrendered to New Britain Police Headquarters on Thursday, Feb. 6, where he was processed without incident, New Britain spokesperson Rachel Zaniewski said.
Rodriguez is accused of fleeing the scene after striking two pedestrians near 237 Broad Street on Dec. 9, 2024, police said. One victim died, and the other was injured, officials said. Authorities did not release the name of the victim who died.

A Connecticut woman accused of opening fire inside the Bristol Police Department lobby has taken a plea deal, officials said.
Suzanne Laprise, 51, of Plainville, pleaded guilty in New Britain Court in connection with the October 6, 2023, shooting inside the station, Bristol Police Chief Mark Morello said in a statement. Laprise admitted to a charge of an attempt to commit assault.

A 23-year-old Connecticut man was killed Thursday, Oct. 24, when he wrecked his motorcycle into a guardrail, authorities said.
Peter Bienasz, of Plainville in Hartford County, was riding behind a Toyota Prius on Route 72 near the I-84 on-ramp, when he crashed into the back of the car, causing him to careen into a metal guardrail around 12:14 p.m., Connecticut State Police said.
