The incident happened around 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, in Holly Springs, North Carolina.

Tributes are pouring in for Robert Montgomery, a 61-year-old New Jersey resident killed on Wednesday, July 16, when he was struck by lightning while volunteering at an archery event.
Montgomery, of Cinnaminson, worked as an engineer and was passionate about his career, according to his obituary from the Givnish Funeral Home website.
An animal lover, Montgomery was devoted to his three dogs, Mia, Franco and Vedder, walking them every day, his obituary reads.

Mass Casualty: Lightning Strike At NJ Archery Range Kills 1 Man, Injures 14 Others, Police Say
A man was killed and 14 others were injured, including a child, after a lightning strike at a New Jersey archery range Wednesday evening, July 16, police said.
The incident happened at 7:13 p.m. at Black Knight Bowbenders, an outdoor range on Perrineville Road in Jackson Township, according to Jackson Township Police Chief Matthew Kunz.
Police were notified that multiple people had been struck by lightning, with CPR being performed on one individual, Kunz said.

Boy Struck By Lightning In Central Park As Severe Storms Knock Out Power To 500K In Northeast
A boy was struck by lightning as a potent system prompted severe thunderstorm and tornado watches and warnings across the East Coast.
The 15-year-old is recovering after the incident on Thursday afternoon, June 19 at New York City's Central Park, on the upper East Side, near Fifth Avenue and East 96th Street. The NYPD say he was alert and conscious after the incident.
