Ex-Con Charged With Murder After Deadly Weekend Fight, Cops Say
An ex-con from Waterbury has been charged with murder following what police described as a deadly “physical disturbance” inside a city apartment building over the weekend.
Kendren Barnes, 47, was identified as one of the individuals involved in the incident at 144 Grove St. on Saturday, Dec. 27, which left one person dead, police said. The victim was not identified. Barnes was taken into custody on Monday, Dec. 29, and charged with murder, according to authorities. He was turned over to court and issued a $2.5 million bond, police said.

Delaware State Police (DSP) have identified the trooper shot and killed while working an overtime assignment at a Wilmington Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) facility as Corporal Grade One Matthew T. “Ty” Snook.
Snook, 34, of Hockessin, DE, a 10-year veteran of the DSP, was working an overtime shift when he was shot by a 44-year-old customer who walked into the at the Karen L. Johnson DMV in Wilmington, Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 23, DSP said. Snook pushed an employee out of the way at which point the gunman shot him again, killing him, police said.

NY Ex-Cop Who Raced 90 MPH To His Own Brothel Sentenced For Running Sex Operation
A former Long Island police officer is heading to prison after admitting he managed a brothel that operated as part of a long-running criminal enterprise.
George Trimigliozzi, 56, of Islip, was sentenced in Suffolk County Court Monday, Dec. 1, to two years behind bars after pleading guilty to promoting prostitution, official misconduct, and unlawful imprisonment.
Trimigliozzi, an 18-year veteran of the Suffolk County Police Department, co-managed one of several brothels run by alleged ringleader Frank Saggio, 61, of West Islip, according to prosecutors.
