Bristol Man Admits To 37 Robberies Across State
A Connecticut man has admitted to committing at least 37 violent robberies across the state in 2022.
Hartford County resident Lonny Cross, age 45, of Bristol, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, May 21, for the crimes that ranged from Hartford to Fairfield County and one in New York in September and October 2022, said Vanessa Roberts Avery, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

CT School Staffers Accused Of Failing To Report Abuse
Employees of a Connecticut school have been arrested on charges of failure to report abuse by a teacher.
The incident, which included the arrest of the alleged abuser in January, took place in Litchfield County at the Plymouth Center School in Plymouth.
Sherri Turner, age 59, of Farmington, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 23, and Melissa Morelli, age 45, of Plymouth, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 24.
Both were charged with failure to report abuse, neglect, or injury of a child or imminent risk of serious harm to a child, according to the Plymouth Police Department.

Connecticut State Police have captured a suspect following a massive statewide manhunt for the alleged murder of a UPS driver on Route 8.
Police arrested Hartford County resident Elijah David Bertrand, age 19, who is also a UPS employee, around 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23, in Litchfield County, in the town of Plymouth, said state police.
The murder took place around 10:36 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, in Litchfield County on Route 8 northbound near Exit 37 in Watertown, said state police.

The number of “red" communities in Connecticut has reached 100, according to the most recent state data, Thursday, Nov. 12.
Infection rates have been rising in Connecticut dramatically. There are now 100 cities and towns with the highest daily averages of newly reported COVID-19 cases.
Last week, Thursday, Nov. 5, there were 67 red communities.
And the week before that, Oct. 29, there were 30.
