Jesus Roman III, age 35, died on Sunday, Oct. 8 when the Jeep he was in crashed into a pond in Easton, killing Roman and Amy L. Rockwell, age 45, of Newtown.

Sixth-Grade Student Dies After Overnight House Fire In Redding
A middle school student was killed during a fire at his residence in Fairfield County Redding.
The blaze began around 11:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14 in Redding at the Karlson family home on Diamond Hill Road, officials said.
The child, identified as Brien Karlson, a sixth-grade student at John Read Middle School, was injured and taken to the hospital, but later died from his injuries on Wednesday, Feb. 15, said Jason McKinnon, superintendent of the Easton, Redding, and Region 9 school districts.

Fairfield County Man Charged After Incident That Injured 2, Police Say
A Fairfield County man has been charged in a domestic violence incident that injured two.
It happened in Easton around 8:20 p.m., Monday, Oct. 31 at a home on Everett Road.
According to Easton Police Chief Richard Doyle, officers responded to the home after receiving a 911 call reporting a disturbance.
When officers arrived on the scene they found a fight had occurred between a man and woman, Doyle said.
The man, identified as Nicholas Testani, age 30, of Bridgeport, was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment of two puncture wounds, police said.

Driver Dies In Wrong-Way, Two-Vehicle Crash In Fairfield County
A 61-year-old man died in a two-vehicle, wrong-way crash in Fairfield County.
The crash happened on Route 25 in Trumbull near the intersection of Route 111 at about 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, according to Connecticut State Police.
A 2012 Honda Accord SE was going the wrong way, traveling south in the northbound lanes, and collided head-on with a 2018 Ford TCN, authorities reported.
Both vehicles sustained disabling damage, police said.

Ex-emt From Fairfield County Sentenced For Crash That Killed Woman
A Fairfield County man who hit and killed a woman walking her dog before fleeing has been sentenced to prison.
Declan Kot, age 24, of Easton, Nov. 10 was sentenced to 20 years, suspended after serving seven years. Five years of probation will follow that, along with 500 hours of community service, according to the Bridgeport Superior Court.
During the first three years of his probation, Kot will be also be required to install an ignition interlock device in his car and undergo substance abuse evaluations.

Police Officer Rescues Man, Dog From Ice-Covered Pond In Easton
A police officer is being called a hero for rescuing a man and his dog who had fallen through the ice at an area pond.
The life-saving effort in Fairfield County took place on Friday, Dec. 18 in Easton,, during the evening, when officer Anthony Telesco was flagged down by a man who told him his dog had fallen through the ice of Keller’s Pond, near the Helen Keller Middle School, authorities said.
Telesco, 32, immediately called for the Easton Fire Department to perform an ice rescue.

These CT Communities Most Affected By Power Outages, Toppled Trees
Some 19,000 Eversource customers are still without power early due to a powerful storm that moved across the region on Sunday, Nov. 15.
As of 8:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 16, the company is reporting 19,021 of 1,282,551 customers across the region without power.
Some of the highest outages remained in Darien with 1,707, Norwalk with 1,190, Westport with 884, Greenwich with 783, Wilton with 764, and Bethel with 278 as of 8:30 a.m., Monday.
United Illuminating had 258 customers still without power as of 9 a.m. Monday, with the most in Easton (116), followed by Bridgeport (46).
