Third New Haven Shooting In 3 Days: Teen Undergoes Emergency Surgery After Being Shot
A 17-year-old Connecticut boy is recuperating after undergoing emergency surgery following a shooting on Tuesday, Sept. 3. It was the third shooting in New Haven this week, police said. Officers received a ShotSpotter alert around 5:45 p.m. near Sherman and Edgewood Avenues, where they found the boy suffering from a bullet wound, New Haven police said. CT 19-Year-Old Charged With Shooting Man On City Street
A Connecticut 19-year-old was charged with assault for allegedly shooting another man on a city street last month. Bridgeport resident Maurice Beverly was arrested on Thursday, July 11, for the Sunday, June 23 incident in which a 23-year-old New Haven resident was shot on a city street in New Haven. According to Officer Christian Bruckhart of the New Haven Police, officers responded to the area of Whalley Avenue and Sherman Avenue following a ShotSpotter activation but could not find a victim.
