Truck Fire Spreads To Brush In Ramsey
Ramsey firefighters knocked down a truck fire that spread to nearby brush Wednesday evening, Nov. 13, the department said. The blaze was reported around 6 p.m., prompting Engine 431, Engine 432, and Engine 433 to the scene on Lake Street. First arriving crews confirmed a fully involved truck fire, which they quickly brought under control within minutes, Ramsey fire officials reported. All units operated on scene for approximately one hour before returning to service. No injuries were reported.

Former New York Congressman Michael Grimm has been left paralyzed from the chest down after a severe horse-riding accident during a polo tournament, and is being treated in New Jersey, CBS News reports citing a friend of Grimm's. A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to prison time after pleading guilty to abusing his dog, authorities said. Ava. Chester County DA's Office Curtis Bacon, 34, of Coatesville, was sentenced on Nov. 8 to 13 to 60 months in prison and is ordered to pay restitution for his dog Ava’s veterinary care, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office announced. Bacon is also permanently banned from owning animals or pets. Police arrested 23-year-old Lyndhurst man on multiple drug charges after he was found unconscious and slumped over the wheel of his car, blocking traffic this week. Austin Gilchrist was unresponsive and slumped over the steering wheel of a Ford Escape with its engine running, when Lyndhurst police were called to DeJessa Bridge just before 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, Detective Lt. A New Jersey man recently released from prison has been arrested and charged with murder after a young Manhattan woman died from injuries sustained in an assault, according to the NYPD. Thirteen people were hurt in a crash on the NJ Turnpike involving a bus carrying military personnel, 6abc reports. The crash happened on the northbound side of the turnpike on Wednesday, Nov. 13, the state Department of Transportation said. The Jennings Creek Wildfire has burned more than 2,200 acres across Passaic County, NJ, and Orange County, NY, and shifting winds are blowing smoke into surrounding areas.
