Ex-State Trooper Charged In $8K Workers’ Comp Scam: State A former Connecticut State Police Trooper is facing serious charges after authorities say he lied about being injured at work and collected over $8,000 in workers’ compensation benefits. Jose Campos, 32, of Winsted, was arrested Tuesday, June 17, by state inspectors and charged with one count of larceny and one count of making a fraudulent claim or receipt of benefits, the state prosecutor's office said. Speeding DUI Driver Had Child In Car On I-84, State Police Say A 32-year-old Connecticut woman was arrested on multiple charges, including operating under the influence (OUI) and risk of injury to a child, following a traffic stop on I-84, Connecticut, State Police said. A driver later identified as Precious Seay, 32, of Winsted was spotted by troopers conducting an OUI enforcement detail going 80 mph and swerving out of her lane near exit 16 in Middlebury around 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, police said. That's the pitch for the new season of "Divine Renovation, Destination: New England," a home renovation show filmed entirely in northwestern Connecticut.
