CT Parolee Shot Now Facing Assault Charge Following Shooting
A Connecticut man out on parole who was shot during a disturbance in Waterbury is now facing criminal charges, authorities said. Scott Basile, 33, of New Haven, was arrested following an incident in the area of 1900 North Main Street in Waterbury on Wednesday, Feb. 26, police said. Basile suffered a gunshot wound and a graze wound during the disturbance. He was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Waterbury police said. James Comer was 17 years old when he took part in a string of robberies that ended with a man dead. Now, after more than 25 years behind bars, the 42-year-old Newark native will be released on Oct. 17, thanks to a landmark state Supreme Court ruling. In April 2000, Comer and two others carried out four armed robberies, officials said. During the second, an accomplice fatally shot a victim. A 22-year-old Connecticut man admitted to sharing nude photos of children while out on parole for another child pornography charge, authorities said. Ryan Cameron, of Groton, pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography, which carries a mandatory minimum of five years in prison and a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years, the US Attorney for Connecticut said. A Connecticut man will serve more than a decade in prison after admitting he sexually assaulted a heavily sedated woman at a Fairfield County hospital, authorities said.
