A fresh burger debate is ready to hit the griddle.
The new state-by-state list was published by Tasting Table, and focuses on independent, no-frills burger spots with loyal local followings.
Tasting Table said it looked for unassuming places serving burgers that are consistently juicy, flavorful, and worth a drive.
For Daily Voice readers, the list includes standouts in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Virginia.

CT Convicted In Deadly Shooting Of 27-Year-Old Learns His Fate
A Connecticut man will spend decades behind bars for a deadly shooting that left one person dead and another seriously hurt in a New Haven neighborhood.
Treyvon Battle, 35, of Hamden, was sentenced to serve 80 years in prison on Wednesday, April 22, the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice said.
A jury found Battle guilty of murder, first-degree assault, criminal possession of a firearm, and carrying a pistol without a permit in January.
The charges stem from a shooting that happened on May 27, 2017, on Dickerman Street in New Haven.

A deadly shooting in New Haven has left two families grieving after an argument turned violent. Police say two men were gunned down during the confrontation, which investigators believe began as a fight among a group of men.

Police ID CT Woman Killed By Driver Who Ran Red Light: Police
A Connecticut woman was killed after being struck by a car in downtown New Haven overnight, police said.
Mary Claire Hartman, 56, of New Haven, was hit shortly after midnight Saturday, Aug. 16, at Chapel and Temple streets, police said.
She suffered severe injuries when a car struck her as she crossed the street on foot. Paramedics rushed her to Yale New Haven Hospital, where she later died, police said.
Surveillance video showed the vehicle that hit Hartman ran a red light before the crash, police said. The driver, who was not identified, remained at the scene.
