Police say they have filed dozens of new charges against a Connecticut funeral home owner accused of stealing from more than 100 families. Philip Pietras, of Enfield, was charged with 20 counts of second-degree larceny and 60 counts of intent to defraud funeral service contracts, Vernon police said. A group is working to help victims of an alleged Connecticut funeral scam involving a former funeral home owner accused of embezzling more than $70,000 from funds meant for burials and other services, to allegedly fuel his gambling habit.
