A 38-year-old Connecticut father faces multiple charges after authorities said he suffered a drug overdose while driving with his children, ages 2 and 5, in the car. Both kids were found wandering a restaurant parking lot as he and a woman both nearly died from what is believed to be opioid-laced cocaine. A state watchdog says a 32-year-old woman who died last year while locked up at York Correctional Institution in Niantic was killed by a deadly mix of fentanyl, chlordiazepoxide, and the veterinary sedative xylazine after drugs slipped past prison walls. A 28-year-old woman was found dead at the Super 8 Motel earlier this month in what police believe is a drug-related overdose. A Hartford woman who told officers she had recently used fentanyl was found dead inside a city jail cell, a state investigation determined. Linda Praylow, 49, was discovered unresponsive in her holding cell at the Hartford Police Department early in the morning of April 5, 2024. A 40-year-old Connecticut man admitted in court this week that he supplied a 27-year-old woman with some of the drugs that led to her overdose death, authorities said. Jimmy Lassus, of Wethersfield in Hartford County, pleaded guilty on Monday, Sept. 30, to the distribution of fentanyl and oxycodone, the US Attorney for Connecticut said.
