'Monster' Teacher Who Raped, Tortured Students At NY Boarding School Gets Decades
A onetime teacher at a private boarding school in upstate New York will spend decades in prison for torturing and sexually abusing children under his care.
Paul Geer, 58, of Hancock, was sentenced to over 27 years behind bars in Albany federal court on Thursday, Sept. 4, after a jury found he brought two children across state lines to sexually abuse them.
Geer worked at the Family Foundation School, more recently known as Allynwood Academy, from 1994 to 2001. The school shuttered in 2014 amid a wave of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse allegations dating back to the 1990s.

The US population is rapidly diversifying, with cities in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic at the forefront, according to a new study.
WalletHub released its 2025 ranking of the nation's Most Diverse Cities on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Three Maryland communities topped the list of 501 locations, which were evaluated based on socioeconomic, cultural, economic, household, and religious diversity.
