CT Medical Business Accused Of $660K Medicaid Scheme Involving Fake Treatments, Doctors
Four people tied to a Connecticut medical business are accused of running a scheme that investigators say stole nearly $660,000 from Connecticut’s Medicaid program through fake medical billing.
Inspectors with the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney announced the arrest on Wednesday, May 20.
Investigators said the case centers on Advanced Pain and Regenerative Medical Solution Corporation, also known as APRM Solutions, in Shelton.

Motorcyclist Killed In High-Speed I-95 Crash With SUV In CT
A 28-year-old man was killed after crashing his motorcycle into an SUV while speeding on I-95, police said.
Joseph R. Baez, of Providence, Rhode Island, was killed around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, when his BMW motorcycle slammed into a Subaru Crosstrek near Exit 60 south in Madison, Connecticut State Police said.
Investigators said Baez was riding at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash. His motorcycle also lacked a license plate.
Paramedics rushed Baez to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he later died of his injuries, police said.

Elvin Miranda, 59, and Lisa Miranda, 66, of Tolland, were among 100 people arrested after state police raided the couple's Mountain Spring Road property Saturday afternoon, May 16. Troopers executed a search-and-seizure warrant at 1:29 p.m. tied to illegal gambling and cockfighting events being held at the home, Connecticut State Police said.
