Poughkeepsie Woman Assaulted, Teeth Knocked Out, 1 Charged: Police
A 27-year-old Hudson Valley man has been charged with felony assault following a brutal attack that left a woman with significant facial injuries, police report.
According to the City of Poughkeepsie Police, officers responded to a reported assault on N. Bridge Street on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.
On arrival, a 32-year-old woman was found with severe facial injuries, including missing teeth, police said.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where she received treatment for injuries to her mouth and face.

An Orange County man is facing felony charges after police seized multiple illegal firearms, including an AR-15 with a defaced serial number, during a raid in the town of Deerpark, authorities announced.
The City of Port Jervis Police Department, in collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies, arrested Brian Negrette, age 40, of Huguenot, a hamlet of Deerpark, on Thursday, Jan. 2, on charges of criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held pending arraignment.

One Dead, 1 Hospitalized Following Head-On Crash In Loch Sheldrake
One man is dead, and another is hospitalized following a head-on crash in Sullivan County.
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, at the intersection of Cignarale Road in Loch Sheldrake.
According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, the crash involved a 2012 Toyota Sienna minivan driven by John Bullock, age 60, of Loch Sheldrake, and a 2015 Buick Encore operated by Benjamin DeVault, age 19, of Hurleyville.
