Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Woman In Parked Car Hospitalized After Uniondale Hit-Run A woman was hospitalized following a hit-run crash on Long Island. Nassau County police said the crash occurred Friday, Nov. 15, at about 8 p.m. on Nassau Road in Uniondale.  The woman, age 81, was in a parked white Toyota Avalon near 785 Nassau Road when a red Chrysler Town & Country with Texas plates struck the rear of her vehicle.  The driver, described only as a man, fled the scene and later abandoned the Chrysler. Stretch Of Route 117 In Mount Pleasant To Be Closed At Times During Day Throughout Week A busy roadway in the region will closed for roadwork. The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) is advising motorists in Northern Westchester that Route 117 westbound in the Town of Mount Pleasant will be closed to traffic between Memorial Plaza and Tompkins Avenue for a five-day stretch. The closure will be daily beginning Monday, Nov. 18 and lasting through Friday, Nov. 22, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., to facilitate a local road rehabilitation project, weather permitting. Motorists should follow the posted detour.

Jericho House Fire Leaves Family Dog Dead A house fire on Long Island left a dog dead. The blaze began at about 4 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 on Seaman Road in Jericho. Responders arrived to find the home engulfed in flames from the second floor and heavy smoke throughout.  All residents made it out safely, though the family’s dog was found dead inside.  The Nassau County PD Arson Bomb Squad and the Nassau County Fire Marshal are investigating. Firefighters from Jericho, with assistance from Syosset, Hicksville, Westbury, Plainview, Bethpage, South Farmingdale, Glenwood, and Carle Place, responded and extinguished the fire.
