New Update: Math Coach Who Allegedly Used Chokehold On Student In CT Resigns
A math coach who allegedly used a chokehold on an elementary student until they were unconscious in Fairfield County has resigned from her job.
The incident took place in Norwalk on Friday, Feb. 24 at Brookside Elementary School.
Following an investigation, Stefanie Sanabria, age 50, of Danbury, was arrested on a warrant at her home, said Deputy Chief Terrence Blake, of the Norwalk Police.
She resigned from the school on the same day, said Emily Morgan, spokeswoman for the Norwalk School District.

Fairfield County Duo Nabbed For Sex Trafficking Of Minors, Police Say
A Fairfield County man and woman have been arrested for the alleged sex trafficking of minors.
The two, identified as Teresa Martinez, age 36 of Bridgeport, and Eugene Luini, age 60, of Stamford, were arrested by Norwalk Police on Monday, Dec. 26, said Norwalk Deputy Chief Terrence Blake.
In January 2021, the Department of Children and Families received an anonymous tip regarding the sex trafficking of juveniles in Norwalk, Blake said.

Plainfield Man Accused Of Having Sexual Contact With 13-Year-Old
A Connecticut man wanted for allegedly having sexual conduct with a 13-year-old girl has been captured.
Windham County resident Eduardo Acevedo, age 33, of Moosup, was captured on Friday, June 10, with the help of the Lincoln, Rhode Island Police on a warrant from the Plainfield Police Department.
Through an investigation, it was determined that Acevedo had inappropriate sexual contact with a 13-year-old female, said Chief Mario Arriaga, of the Plainfield Police.

CT Teacher Arrested For Assaulting Student, Police Say
A Connecticut teacher has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a student in the classroom.
On Monday, Dec. 6, at about 2:20 p.m., Police received calls regarding an assault in New Haven at Edgewood School, located at 737 Edgewood Ave.
According to Officer Scott Shumway of the New Haven Police, responding officers learned that a teacher, Deron Beasley, age 42, of New Haven, and a student, had been involved in an altercation in a classroom.

A Connecticut man, who has been hiding from the police, was arrested on a warrant for alleged sexual assault of a minor.
Windham County resident Gillan R. Gardner, age 47, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 24, after he was found at an area park.
Gardner, of Plainfield, had an active warrant stemming from a November incident in which a juvenile girl reported he had inappropriate sexual contact with her, said Plainfield Chief of Police Mario A. Arriaga.
