A former Connecticut elementary school teacher has been charged with the sexual assault of a 10-year-old female student, according to an arrest warrant.
The warrant, obtained by WFSB Eyewitness News 3, details the arrest of Erving Rivera, age 50, of Hartford, for allegedly kissing and having sexual contact with a female student in his classroom.
He was arrested and charged on Wednesday, April 5, with sexual assault and illegal sexual contact with a victim under 16, court records show.

New Haven County resident, Christian Diaz, age 28, of Meriden, was sentenced Wednesday, Oct 5 to eight years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation, John Doyle Jr., New Haven State’s Attorney

A Connecticut man who was charged with alleged child abuse has been hit with additional charges after new horrific abuse came to light.
New Haven County resident Kevin Grant, age 33, of Naugatuck, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 10, after new charges surfaced in connection with his Oct. 2020 arrest for subjecting his children to brutal physical punishments.
The new charges were released to police on Friday, May 13, said the Naugatuck Police.

A Connecticut man has been charged with sexually abusing a minor following a two-month investigation.
The Hartford County incident took place in Manchester.
In May, the Manchester Police Department received information that Jesus Manuel Figueroa, age 32, of Hartford, was suspected of sexually abusing a minor child, said Lt. Ryan Shea, of the Manchester Police Department.

Four people have been arrested in Fairfield County for alleged abuse and neglect of infants at an area daycare center authorities announced on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
The alleged abuse took place on Tuesday, June 15, at the unnamed center in Westport, said Lieutenant David Wolf, of the Westport Police.

A Connecticut man has been arrested for manslaughter in the death of his newborn infant, according to police.
Grant McAuslan, age 34, of West Hartford, was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 4, after the baby girl's death was ruled a homicide by the Hartford Medical Examiner's Office.
