Two New Police Officers Join Wilton Police Department Two men police officers have joined a Fairfield County police department after both retired from the NYPD. On Monday, March 15, Kevin Maloney and Matthew Collins were sworn in as Wilton Police officers, the department said.  They come to Wilton after recently retiring from the NYPD. Both will be attending a three-week training academy as well as a three-month field training program before being certified as Connecticut Police Officers. It happened just after 12:30 Sunday, Sept. 29 at the Edenwald Houses in the Bronx. The officer, Brian Mulkeen, was 33 and lived in Yorktown Heights with his girlfriend, who is also a police officer in the Bronx in the 44th precinct. Police officers were patrolling the area the incident occurred due to gang activity including recent shootings, the NYPD said. Video: Coyote Chases Deer In Front Yard Of Area Home It wasn't a roadrunner, but a coyote failed to get his mark during a chase with an animal in Northern Westchester. A coyote was caught on a doorbell camera in Yorktown Heights chasing a deer before veering off and heading in a different direction in defeat.  The surveillance video was taken near the Jefferson Valley Mall off of Oakside Road. The homeowner noted that she originally thought it to be a fox chasing the deer, but ultimately determined that it was a coyote that may have been making the rounds in Westchester. You can see it play out at the very start of the video here. …

Speeding Stop, K9 Search In Wilton Leads To Drug Charges For Woman A 23-year-old Northern Westchester woman who was stopped for speeding in Fairfield County ended up in handcuffs after a police K-9 allegedly found cocaine in her vehicle. Ariana Muriqi, of Yorktown Heights, was arrested around 10:35 a.m., Sunday, June 16, after being stopped for traveling 57 mph in a 40 mph zone on Danbury Road at Westport Road, said the Wilton Police Department.
