Recall Issued For 226K Smoke-Carbon Monoxide Alarms That Don't Sound Alert For Fires More than 226,000 faulty combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are being recalled because they may fail to provide alerts if a fire was to break out. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that seven Kidde models - Series 2040, 2050, 2060, and 2070 smoke and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms (see above) - are included in the recall. Christian Otero, 37, of Norwalk, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 13, after running from a Walmart security officer with alleged stolen merchandise, said Lt. Jared Zwickler, of the Norwalk Police. Ronald Warren, 55, of Hamden, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 1, after Milford Police responded to the Walmart at 1265 Boston Post Road, on the report of a shoplifting, Milford Police said. An investigation led to his arrest for allegedly stealing $450 worth of merchandise, police said. Warren was charged with larceny and released on a promise to appear notice.

Couple Wanted For Using Lost Credit Card At Three Stores In Fairfield County Stratford Police are searching for a couple who allegedly spent $1,230 on a new television, liquor and Home Dept merchandise using a dropped credit card.  According to police, the credit card was dropped on the floor of a Home Depot location in Stratford at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3.  That day, a couple was caught on surveillance footage in the store picking up the lost card and using it to buy $361 of Home Depot merchandise.
