A Connecticut man with 10 warrants for his arrest fled from police when he was spotted and ran over stop sticks in his Corvette. The incident took place in New Haven County in Milford on Thursday, Nov. 16 in the parking lot of the boat ramp area on Naugatuck Avenue. The pursuit began when a Milford police officer noticed the vehicle with no registration plate and the owner Jeffrey Yu, age 28, of Milford. Yu fled from officers and drove over deployed stop sticks. A Connecticut man was caught red-handed by police who say he was, among other charges, driving a vehicle that had another person’s license plate. It happened on Thursday, Aug. 3 at approximately 5:10 p.m. in Darien, according to the Darien Police Department. Police originally flagged the situation when they saw a car, driven by 36-year-old Norwalk resident Wilmar Berrios-Cruz, traveling on Post Road without a front license plate. A 27-year-old Connecticut man found himself in handcuffs following a routine traffic stop in Western Massachusetts. Fairfield Countyt resident William Hill, of Bridgeport, was arrested just after 10:30 p.m. on July 19 after being stopped in Springfield by officers on Dickson Street for driving an unregistered vehicle, police said. A Connecticut motorcyclist who was allegedly driving erratically through the streets was arrested after crashing the bike. The incident took place in New Haven County on Sunday, Aug. 15, in Milford after police spotted the cyclist in the area of Milford Center allegedly driving erratically. Teen Busted After Attempting To Fill Fake Prescription Numerous Times, Police Say
A teen was busted on numerous charges after he allegedly attempted to fill a fraudulent prescription at a Fairfield County pharmacy. Dwayne Smith, 19, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 28, after a pharmacist in the central Greenwich area contacted the Greenwich Police and reported suspicious activity, said Captain Mark E. Zuccerella. An expired registration tag led to the arrest of a Fairfield County man who allegedly was driving while impaired in New Canaan early over the weekend, police said. Officers from the New Canaan Police Department stopped White Oak Shade Road resident John C. A fake license plate registration led to the arrest of a Fairfield County man for a failure to appear warrant and forgery. Marvin Lopez, 40, of Stamford, was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 19, after Wilton Police stopped him on Danbury Road driving a white 2004 Ford Escape that the temporary registration tag came back for a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, said Wilton Police. Greenwich Man Driving 'Unreasonably Fast' Was Under Influence, Police Say
A Greenwich man was nabbed for DUI after police spotted him driving "unreasonably fast." Richard Luke Lamanna, 23, was arrested around 1:24 a.m. Monday on Round Hill Road after police spotted him driving 50 mph in a 30 mph zone, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz. During the stop, officers could smell alcohol on Lamanna's breath and he was asked to take a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said. He was charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, traveling unreasonably fast, and DUI. Lamanna was released to a friend on $100 bond.
