Oscar Flores, age 34, of Mount Rainier, Maryland, and Severo Alelar, age 25, of Hyattsville, Maryland, were indicted by a federal grand jury in Hartford Thursday, Sept. 22, for fentanyl trafficking. Luis Ortiz, from Worcester, Massachusetts and Putnam, Connecticut, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 17, at a home in Worcester following an investigation. Police said Ortiz was charged with gun and narcotics offenses, including the illegal sale of firearms, ammunition, and fentanyl.  The investigation into Ortiz's activities began in January after troopers received information that he was illegally in possession of firearms, authorities said. Fairfield County Man Sentenced For Selling Ghost Guns To Undercover Police Officer A Connecticut man was sentenced in federal court in Boston in connection with selling two “ghost guns.” Fairfield County resident, Brian McCarthy, age 33, of Bridgeport, was sentenced to 30 months in prison and two years of supervised release, according to the US Attorney's Office. Joseph Daniels, 36, of Norwalk, was sentenced in New Haven to 120 months in prison, followed by eight years of supervised release, for distributing heroin in Fairfield County. Stamford Restaurant Caught Selling Alcohol Without License Stamford police seized more than 10 cases of beer from a restaurant that was selling alcohol without a permit during an undercover operation. Stamford police had received information regarding liquor being sold at the Rincon Latino at 449 West Main St., without a permit, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin. Darien Man Charged With Selling Drugs In Stamford A 34-year-old Darien man was arrested Friday and charged with selling drugs in Stamford, according to police. Frank Green Jr. sold cocaine to undercover officers in Stamford on three occasions, according to police. He was charged Friday with three counts of sale of narcotics, and three counts of conspiracy to sale of narcotics, police said. During a search and seizure warrant at Green's home, police seized $2,667 in cash and his 2006 Dodge Challenger, police said. Green's bond was set at $150,000 and he was given a court date of Jan. 31.
