Long Island Serial Murders: New Reports Shed Light On How Suspect's Wife Became Key To Case The wife of Rex Heuermann, the suspected Long Island Gilgo Beach killer, unknowingly helped investigators zero in on her husband when two of her hairs were found on the bodies of two of the victims, according to new reports. Heuermann, of the village of Massapequa Park in Nassau County, is charged with killing Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello and burying their bodies in a grassy area of Gilgo Beach, located in the town of Babylon in Suffolk County.
