Student-athletes in Connecticut will not be required to wear masks during the winter sports season, provided they are vaccinated against COVID-19, according to new guidance from the CIAC. ID Released For HS Football Player Killed In Fairfield County Crash
A high school football player in Fairfield County has been identified as the teen who was killed during a single-vehicle crash over the weekend. Jordan Martinez, age 17, of Stamford, was killed around 11:30 p.m., Saturday, according to the Office of the State Medical Examiner. His death has been classified as accidental, and that he died from blunt force trauma to the torso and other areas of the body, the Medical Examiner's Office said. Now Decides Fall Sports Conditioning Can Restart
Student-athletes have been given the green light by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference to resume their conditioning programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the weekend, the CIAC announced that beginning on Monday, Aug. 24, schools can return to conditioning activities that were being conducted since early July.
