Fatal Fire: CT Man Found In Basement Following Blaze, Police Say A man was found dead in a basement following a fire at a Connecticut home. The fire took place in Hartford County around 10 p.m., Monday, May 1 in Bristol on Steele Road. Bristol firefighters and police officers responded to the call for an active structure fire, said Bristol Police Lt. Patrick Krajewski. “As firefighters searched the home, they located an elderly male in the basement, who they removed to an awaiting ambulance where lifesaving measures were taken,” Krajewski said.
