Man Charged With DUI For Fatal Head-On Crash In CT, Police Say A 25-year-old man has turned himself in nearly a year after he allegedly drove under the influence, crossing the double-yellow lines on a highway and crashing head-on into another car. Isiah Turner was arrested on Monday, June 24 for the Litchfield County incident, Connecticut State Police said. Police Dish Out 50 Tickets In I-684 Distracted Driver Detail Dozens of tickets were dished out by New York State Police troopers during a distracted driving detail on I-684 in Northern Westchester. New York State Police troopers from the Somers barracks issued 50 vehicle and traffic tickets to drivers committing various violations on a stretch of the interstate on Saturday, Feb. 1. During the detail, troopers dished out 17 speeding tickets, eight tickets to motorists violating the "move over law," 10 for cell phone infractions, four drivers for not wearing a seatbelt, and 11 others for various violations. Here's How Many Crashes Have Been Reported On CT Roadways During July 4th Holiday Over the two-day Fourth of July time period so far, Connecticut State Police say troopers have responded to a total of 79 motor vehicle crashes, with one serious injury. Since the holiday enforcement got underway on Wednesday, July 3, at 7 p.m., state police responded to 2,642 calls for service, including the 79 for crashes, which, fortunately, none resulted in fatalities. Other stops included helping 112 disabled motor vehicles 23 arrests for driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
