Propaganda Stickers Found On Westport, State Property, Police Say Propaganda stickers discovered on local and state property in recent days in Fairfield County prompted a swift response from the town administration and the police department. On Wednesday, March 8, Westport Police were notified of propaganda, in the form of stickers, affixed to signs in the Saugatuck area of town, said Lt. Eric Woods. "These stickers were small, and in some cases, old and tattered," Woods said. The stickers are confirmed recruitment materials from a group called “Patriot Front," Woods added. Three Nabbed After Grab-Go Larceny At Fairfield County Ulta Beauty, Police Say Three people have been arrested after allegedly running into a store and pulling off a grab-and-go larceny at a Fairfield County beauty store. The incident took place around 11:50 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, at the Ulta Beauty store located at 1365 Post Road East in Westport. Store employees said three individuals entered the store, placed merchandise into bags that they were carrying, and then allegedly left the business without paying for any of the items, said Lt. Alert Issued For Teen Who's Gone Missing In Fairfield County The Westport Police Department is asking the public for help locating a missing teen. She is identified as Gerlyne Springer, 17, of the Westport neighborhood of Saugatuck, who was last seen on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 22. Springer's mother said her daughter briefly exited their home around 5:30 p.m., she did not return, Westport Police said.  Since that time, attempts to contact her directly have been unsuccessful. Tornado Confirmed In Fairfield County During Tropical Storm Isaias Reports of a tornado touching down in coastal Fairfield County from the Long Island Sound during the height of Tropical Storm Isaias have proven to be accurate. The National Weather Service confirmed late Friday afternoon, Aug. 7 that a storm cell produced a waterspout off the ocean that made landfall as an EF-1 tornado in the Saugatuck section of Westport at about 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4. EF-1 tornadoes are the second-lowest level twisters, but still pack estimated maximum winds of between 86 and 110 miles per hour. The twister did not last long, traveling only about 50 yards …
