New Cases Of Dangerous, Rare Tick-Borne Disease Confirmed In New England New cases of the rare and dangerous tick-borne infection known as the Powassan virus have been reported in multiple New England residents. The Rhode Island Department of Health announced that a 70-year-old Providence County resident had been diagnosed with the virus, with a second case was also confirmed in a Maine resident. Other cases were also previously reported in Connecticut, when two people between the ages of 50 and 79 contracted the virus, representing the first cases of the year. The flight, which originated in Manchester-Boston Regional Airport was on its way from New Hampshire to Orlando, Florida, when it was struck, airport officials said.  *The aircraft landed safely at Bradley International Airport at approximately 7 p.m.," said Alisa D.
