A Fairfield County woman landed in handcuffs after police stopped her for a missing front license plate.
Margaret Jean Marshall, age 49, of New Canaan, was charged on Friday, Feb. 2, after she was stopped on Cherry Street for driving without a front license plate, said Lt. Marc DeFelice, of the New Canaan Police.
DeFelice said that while speaking with Marshall, the officer detected an odor of alcohol and signs of impairment.

A missing Connecticut mother of five has been declared dead by a judge after being missing for more than four years.
Fairfield County resident Jennifer Farber Dulos, age 50, of New Canaan, was declared dead officially by a judge on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, according to ABC News 7.

A red fox made a surprise visit to a Fairfield County home as the homeowner's cat watched while safely indoors.
The visit happened at a New Canaan home on Tuesday, Nov. 21.
The curious critter, identified as a red fox by its reddish fur, black legs and ears, and white-tipped tail, was seen venturing onto the homeowner's porch and yard.

The owner of a luxury SUV that was stolen from a train station in Fairfield County in 2016 likely thought he'd never see it again.
Fate intervened, however -- or, rather, the Saddle River Police Department in Bergen County, New Jersey.
Officers stopped the 2015 Land Rover on northbound Route 17 for having tinted windows, among other violations, Saddle River PD Chief Jason Cosgriff said.
