Harvard Grad Student Becomes First Active Military Member Crowned Miss America A graduate student at Harvard has made history as the first active duty member of the military to be crowned Miss America. Madison Marsh, who is working on her master's degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and currently a graduate intern with Harvard Medical School, was crowned on Sunday, Jan. 14. Report: Former HS QB In Fairfield County Among Three Sailors Who Died By Suicide This Month Three US Navy sailors stationed on the USS George Washington in Virginia, including one from Connecticut, died by suicide within seven days of each other this month, The Washington Post reports.  Fairfield County native Xavier Sandor, age 19, of Shelton, was found unresponsive aboard the ship in Newport News on Friday, April 15, The Post says. Two other sailors on the ship reportedly died by suicide on April 9 and 10. One Dead, 22 Injuries Reported In West Point Personnel Carrier Crash This story has been updated. One cadet is reported dead and 20 cadets and two soldiers are wounded following a crash of a Light Medium Tactical Vehicle crash at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The crash, according to officials at West Point, took place around 6:45 a.m., Thursday, June 6, off Route 293 in the Camp Natural Bridge area. The injured have been transported to local hospitals.
