Stolen Dirt Bikes Include CT Boy's Make-a-wish Gift After Battling Cancer Police in Connecticut are asking the public for help tracking down two dirt bikes stolen from a garage, including one gifted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The incident occurred in Windham County around 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 20, from a James Street West garage in the town of Putnam. According to Putnam Police, someone broke into a detached locked garage and stole two off-road motorcycles. The homeowner estimated the thefts occurred a short time before discovering the burglary.  An investigation revealed the garage was entered by damaging a window that allowed access to the interior…

'Significant' Cancer Levels Discovered In NY School District, Report Says A study has found that people living near or who attend school in a New York school district had "significant" higher cancer incidents. The study found the number of residents of all ages living within the Northport-East Northport School District had a "statistically significant," higher rate of cancer, reported ABC 7 Eyewitness News. Deodorants Recalled Due To Unexpected Levels Of Cancer-Causing Chemical A company has recalled some of its deodorant products due to unexpected levels of a carcinogen.  TCP HOT Acquisition LLC dba HRB Brands recalled "Sure" and "Brut" branded aerosol spray deodorants with expiration dates on or before August 2023, according to an announcement on Wednesday, Feb. 16. Blood Drives To Be Held In Effort To Save 4-Year-Old Boy With Leukemia A number of blood drives are being held in the area this month in the hope of saving a Long Island 4-year-old with leukemia.  Nassau County resident Ayden Paredes, of Glen Cove, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on Feb. 7 of 2021, according to Mark Paredes, Ayden's father.  Ayden has been receiving chemotherapy treatments and blood transfusions since then, but doctors are now saying he needs a blood stem cell/bone marrow transplant to save his life, Mark said.
