Man Driving Twice Speed Limit Charged With DUI, Narcotics Possession In Darien, Police Say A man who police say drove at twice the speed limit has been charged with DUI and possession of narcotics in Darien. Darien Police say they observed a black Volkswagen Passat being driven at a high speed eastbound on Post Road in the area of Center Street on Saturday, Oct. 5 around 1:15 a.m. The vehicle’s speed measured 52 mph in a 25 mph zone, police say. The officer allegedly followed the vehicle and observed the driver almost strike a curb before over-correcting and crossing the double-yellow lines of Mansfield Avenue.
